Happy 2013, for real!

Embarrisingly, I started my first post of the year by wishing everyone a 'Happy 2013!', in the subject header, and nothing in the post. Note to self, to not post anything on my iphone before going to bed. So here's the actual post…

Happy 2013 everyone! Wishing you, your business, family and friends happiness and health in 2013! To the thousands that checked out my site regularly in 2012, I want to thank you for all your support. I hope that you will continue to come back and see what I've been up to. If you're an art director, designer, photographer or illustrator, I look forward to possibly working with you in the near future! On a different note, when you work alone, it's extremely difficult to get around to updating the portfolio site. Which is why I'm just doing this now. I've just started to add a few projects from summer and fall of last year: 4 illustrations for the 100th GreyCup CFL Championship (commissioned by Bensimon Byrne), and photographs of Scion Canada magazine issue #3. Site Update! New Twitter & FB Like buttons, etc.

Just a few changes around the site:

1. For all your Shingo Shimizu updates and to connect on Facebook, join the Shingo Shimizu Facebook page!

 

2. Just added new Twitter & Facebook 'Like' buttons on the bottoms of each post as well. So keep pressing those buttons please!

3. The NEW music page is setup as a seperate journal from my blog. It's just easier this way. Also thinking of a final stab at a straight up analog vinyl mix before I give into Serato fully. So look out for that!

I'm also working on a few animated buttons. We'll see how that goes. Of course I'll have a tonne of updates with new stuff going on. Until then, have a great weekend!

NEW! T-Shirt section is up!

Finally I've got around to compiling T-shirt designs I did over the last few years. It really takes a long time to compile, and it is adding a bit of weight to the site. Got to trim down the fat some time soon! Anyhow, please take a look, and let me know what you think! I will be posting some of my artwork onto T-shirts probably sometime in the near future, so check back soon. :)

Patterns section is up

 
For some reason, it slipped my mind to include this graphic work on my new site. A few years ago I did a couple of patterns for my friend, Hannah's fashion label called Wonderlust here in Toronto. These were a lot of fun! (Hannah, if you're reading this, congratulations on the baby!)

I want to do more of these… Anyhow, check out the patterns!

New Graphic Design section

I've restructured the logos section! These include stuff I did for CBC Radio 2, Goliath RF and Renegade Skateboards.

I've also included other design works in a new projects section! These include stuff I did for House of Spy and Supermarket, and some concept work for Do Right! Music.

Character Design

The new section is finally up, which includes works from past years: McCain Zwak, McDonald's, Bell Gamesmania, and many others. Check it!
