I've been wanting to redesign the site for quite a while now. Almost there. It's much more slick than the current version, and will be scalable (for mobile). Looks like this so far. Tentatively I'm hoping for a Feb 28 launch!
Embarrisingly, I started my first post of the year by wishing everyone a 'Happy 2013!', in the subject header, and nothing in the post. Note to self, to not post anything on my iphone before going to bed. So here's the actual post…
Happy 2013 everyone! Wishing you, your business, family and friends happiness and health in 2013! To the thousands that checked out my site regularly in 2012, I want to thank you for all your support. I hope that you will continue to come back and see what I've been up to. If you're an art director, designer, photographer or illustrator, I look forward to possibly working with you in the near future! On a different note, when you work alone, it's extremely difficult to get around to updating the portfolio site. Which is why I'm just doing this now. I've just started to add a few projects from summer and fall of last year: 4 illustrations for the 100th GreyCup CFL Championship (commissioned by Bensimon Byrne), and photographs of Scion Canada magazine issue #3. Apparently there was an earthquake in Toronto, that was a moderate 5.0. I was totally oblivious to it, as I was riding on my bike to a meeting. I should have felt it, but I didn't. It wasn't until I noticed hoards of people evacuated out of their office buildings, that I assumed something was up. Still, I'm sure it was a good excuse for those workers to hit the pub and watch the soccer games.
Anyhow, on to more important news. I realized my Twitter button had the wrong page link, so it's fixed now. So join my Twitter page, for all your Shingo Shimizu news and updates here! :)
I've just redesigned the store page! From my page, to the actual vendor site, and finally to the check out should be a much smoother shopping experience. Let me know what you think!
Finally I've got around to compiling T-shirt designs I did over the last few years. It really takes a long time to compile, and it is adding a bit of weight to the site. Got to trim down the fat some time soon! Anyhow, please take a look, and let me know what you think! I will be posting some of my artwork onto T-shirts probably sometime in the near future, so check back soon. :)
For some reason, it slipped my mind to include this graphic work on my new site. A few years ago I did a couple of patterns for my friend, Hannah's fashion label called Wonderlust here in Toronto. These were a lot of fun! (Hannah, if you're reading this, congratulations on the baby!)
I want to do more of these… Anyhow, check out the patterns!
