It's been quite a long time since we last played out. There's been so much great music being released these days, that we can no longer ignore the temptation to DJ once again. (Not that we quit.) I usually keep music news and thoughts to my HOTSAUCE blog, but I'll still drop announcements here for events. As with 99% of my flyers and posters for my events it's my original work. This time around I've dropped the G.I. Joe motifs (totally random I know), and went for a more retro typographic approach (more fitting). Let me know what you think!

The Fate of Abra-Cat-Abra.

So as you may know, my T-shirt submission for Threadless, which was entered into it's 7-day voting thing, has ended. Thank you to all those who voted for me! Thank you for the high fives!

On the flipside, I got a lot of votes, but not a great score. Feeling a little disappointed. (Love that graphic!). I won't know officially until after around two weeks or so. We'll just have to see... fingers crossed!

New Sketch.

Submitted my new sketch for a new Bluenotes T-shirt. Really like this one. Hopefully I'll get around to making this into a print.

Also, today is the LAST DAY for voting for my Threadless shirt submission. If you haven't yet voted, please spare a few seconds here.

Featured on Altpick.

This morning I found out that I am featured on the home page of Altpick as their 'Member Focus'! Good start to a rainy day. Thanks Maria!

8:03PM

Abra-Cat-Abra!

Dear friends, You can help me get my design printed by going to Threadless and scoring it. If my design is printed, Threadless will pay me $$ in cash and prizes for
it! Please help spread the word! I need as many votes possible in 7 days. Thanks!

Voting has ended.

Published in Idea magazine.

The good folks at Idea Design magazine (Taiwan) have published me in their latest Illustration special issue (Oct/Nov). There are 11 works from the last few years featured. Not only that I'm on the front and back cover. Goes to show that working on a series, does pays off rather than one-offs. Oh, and if anyone happens to read what it says in Mandarin Chinese, please let me know!

9:00AM

Bunny and Panda.

I've uploaded some sketches for some recent T-shirts I did for Bluenotes. I'll upload photos of the shirts once they come out.

On a different note, musically I've been really feeling the cosmic disco stuff lately. Check out the new mix by Pocketknife & Cousin Cole called 'Tambourine Dream'. It's insane! Highly recommend to all the Indie music lovers out there. And if you don't like Indie, then it may open you up to it. Amongst the many highlights in it, my favorite is definitely Joanna Newsom's 'The Book Of Right On' (Pocketknife's Scowling Owl Remix)'. Hit Play. It's awesome.

Forcing toy companies to test their products for lead

Fortunately, there are now laws that force toy companies to test their products for lead. Unfortunately, because these are expensive tests, smaller toy companies can't afford to test and go out of business. Read more of this story in the upcoming January issue of Popular Mechanics.
