Screen Printing!

Just completed my last day of Screenprinting class at OpenStudio (401 Richmond building). I will not miss the paint stains, lower back pains, and toxic fumes. I will however definitely miss the super nice class mates that I met. Super talented bunch! Best part was to get each artist's print at the end of class. Hope to see the everyone from class again soon, at the upcoming:

New Halloween Art

Yes it's that time of the year, where we all get dressed up in some zany costume of a character that's super popular in pop culture, or super obscure that requires a little bit of explanation over a trip to the bar (I prefer the latter). This year however, I'm kind of on the fence about going out, since the deadlines seem to be piling up nicely (a tad crazy).

Anyhow, a few weeks back I finished a new design for (what was to be) Monster Massive's upcoming Halloween party. Just found out that it has been cancelled. More info here.

I rather like this one, and hope to get more chances to do more of these. Let me know what you think. :)

Music to Draw to 2: 80s New Order

One of my all favourite bands of all time of course. Although (like most bands big in the 80s), I tend to listen to material they recorded up until the 90s. These are my top five 80s-NO songs for today.

Sold Out Show @ La_Carnita

Sold out show this afternoon @la_carnita today! Can't believe I had beef cheeks, blue berries and bone marrow in a taco. Insane! May slip in a food coma soon.

Thank you to all those who made it today making it an amazing afternoon! Especially those who waited in line, and were stuck outside under the blistering sun. Thank you for your support and patience! Good thing that they were giving out free water bottles at outside of Totem Fitness next door. What a great turn out! I remember seeing the line up go out on the street, right up to Brassaii restaurant (on King West).

I also want to thank Amin Todai and Andrew Richmond for letting me do this. It was great to meet the amazing team at One Method Inc. and the volunteers as well. Hope to see you soon. I'd like to also thank Clay @ Spoke, for inviting me out to the first taco session!

For those of you who weren't able to make it today, not to worry. It will happen again soon with another artist and another super chef. Sign up for the newsletter (right column) for updates!

Until the next one event, stay cool Toronto. Oh, and more photos to come, so stay tuned!

ps: did anybody catch the CBC coverage on the event broadcasted at 5pm today?
